The Christine König Galerie presents Dura broken Lex by Alwin LAY, his solo exhibition. The artist intensively explores the iconic Duralex glass, whose robust design is known worldwide and is part of many people’s everyday lives. Using analog, lens-based photography and the support of artificial intelligence, he reinterprets the material. In a digital process, the AI breaks the glass into precise and calculated shards that create an unusual aesthetic and reveal the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. LAY’s works combine classic photography – such as exposure on baryta paper – with a fictional level that blurs reality and illusion. The exhibition not only questions the role of design, technology and AI, but also encourages us to reflect on the fragility of our perception and the influence of modern technologies on our reality.

If you would like to see more, the exhibition can be visited until February 8, 2025.
