Artistic heavy industry
The exhibition by Bernd and Hilla Becher at the Sprüth Magers gallery in Berlin presented the work of the artist couple, who have been documenting the architecture of heavy industry since the 1960s. With precise methodology, they created typologies of industrial buildings that are considered “anonymous sculptures”. The photographs show variations within boundaries, with a focus on clarity, detail and objectivity.
